The Easter Gathering for staff, partners and friends of our University began with a minute’s silence in memory of the late former Rector, Prof. Marek Opielak. It was an opportunity for reflection, but also to exchange Easter greetings. Among the guests invited to Monday’s gathering were clergy, representatives of state and local authorities, members of the uniformed services, medical institutions, companies, organisations and various other bodies – partners and friends of WSEI University.
– He was not only a scholar, but also a true friend. His legacy will live on in the people with whom he worked and whom he shaped over the years – it was with these words that representatives of Lublin’s universities, local authorities and his loved ones paid tribute to the late Rector of WSEI University, Prof. Marek Opielak. On Thursday, 19 March, we accompanied the Rector on his final journey.
After three years of study and hard work, students from the Polish- and English-language Nursing programmes received their diplomas. The ceremony, attended by the entire families of our graduates, took place on Friday, 13 March at Warsaw Branch of WSEI University
19 students from Spain, Croatia, Slovakia, Romania and Turkey took part in lectures, workshops and study visits organised by WSEI University as part of a Blended Intensive Programme. It was an opportunity to exchange experiences and learn about different approaches to education.
The graduation ceremony for students of the English-language Nursing programme began with a minute’s silence in memory of the late Rector of WSEI University , Prof. Marek Opielak. The event, which took place at our University on 9 March, was attended not only by our students but also by their families from countries far and wide.
On Wednesday 17 December, the traditional Christmas Gathering took place at WSEI University in a warm, friendly and festive atmosphere. The event featured reflections on the past year, good wishes, the sharing of the Christmas wafer, and thoughts on the passing of time.
On Wednesday afternoon, WSEI University hosted a heart-warming Christmas meeting ceremony attended by our students, alongside the University’s Authorities and Lecturers, who came together to celebrate this special occasion.
The 25th anniversary of WSEI University provided an opportunity to present numerous medals and certificates to the management of WSEI University, the Institution itself and its staff. This is a mark of recognition for the work and achievements of the entire team.
WSEI University is hosting representatives from its partner universities in Ukraine: Polissia National University, Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, Podillia State University, Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University and West Ukrainian National University. During the five-day visit (20–24 October), participants are taking part in a series of training sessions and workshops led by experts from our University. The event is being held as part of the SUSTED project.
The evening was filled with nostalgia, emotion, and a sense of pride. On 18 October, before a packed audience at the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures, we celebrated our University’s 25-year history by honouring deserving staff members and partners who have supported the development of our University for many years.

It was a historic occasion at our University. On 16 October 2025, the 25th opening ceremony of the academic year took place, which was combined with the awarding of The Honorary Doctorate to the founder and President of WSEI University, Teresa Bogacka.

The fourth edition of the workshops on innovative technologies and applications of artificial intelligence has already taken place at WSEI University. This year’s edition was held in conjunction with the International Interdisciplinary PhD Workshop 2025.
It was a historic moment for our University. On 5 September, a graduation ceremony was held at Warsaw Branch of WSEI University.
The graduation ceremony for students of the English-language Nursing programme has now taken place. Joy mingled with tears, whilst a sense of pride and the realisation that they had reached a new stage in their lives filled our University’s graduates with a sense of fulfilment. The event took place on Thursday, 17 July.
Over 2,000 people joined Picnic of WSEI University on Saturday, June 28, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our University. The meadows near the Castle were filled with students, alumni, staff, and friends of our Academy who came with their families. It was a joyful and unforgettable celebration – thank you for being with us!
It was a historic moment in the 25-year history of our University. On June 25, 2025, Professor Leszek Balcerowicz was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. This is the first honorary doctorate conferred by the WSEI University.

On Friday, June 13, the Lublinianka Stadium on Leszczyńskiego Street was filled with an atmosphere of great fun, thanks to the “Wieniawa Connects Generations” Festival, which attracted crowds of residents. Both the youngest and the older participants eagerly took part in contests and games, enjoyed vocal and dance performances, watched karate demonstrations, cheered during a football match, and sampled the delicious treats prepared in the food zone.
Lectures, workshops, and discussion panels – all with outstanding experts from across Europe. This was Erasmus Week at WSEI University The event titled “WSEI University in the European Educational Space – Erasmus Week” was organized for the first time. From May 26th to 30th, participants had the opportunity to attend free lectures delivered by distinguished European specialists, as well as take part in workshops and discussions.
The twentieth Lublin Science Festival is underway from September 14-20, 2024 under the motto “Man is the heart of science”. From Monday to Friday, demonstrations and scientific issues have been presented at our University. Throughout the week, several hundred elementary and high school students visited our walls.
The IX International Scientific and Technical Conference “Transport 2024” was held in Kazimierz Dolny on September 11-13, 2024. The event was organized by the WSEI University’s Faculty of Transport and Information Technology in cooperation with the Motor Transport Institute and the Polish Scientific and Technical Exploitation Society.
September 1, 2024 marked the beginning of the term of Dr. Michalina Gryniewicz-Jaworska, Prof. of WSEI University as Dean of the Faculty of Transportation and Information Technology, and Dr. Sylwia Skrzypek-Ahmed, Prof. of WSEI University as Dean of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences. The nominations were awarded by Rector Prof. Dr. Marek Opielak.
Graduates of the first degree Nursing program in the Polish language course celebrated receiving their diplomas. The ceremony took place on Monday, July 22. In addition to receiving their diplomas, the future Nurses sang the national anthem and took the oath. The event was attended by 135 students out of 173 who graduated from the faculty this academic year.
On Tuesday, July 16, 132 Nursing Students in the English course received their Diplomas of Graduation. The graduates celebrated their graduation together with the University’s academic staff and their families and friends.
Earlier this week, a group of Pedagogy Students under the guidance of Dr. Katarzyna Wieczorek defended their theses.

A conference devoted to the multiple aspects and determinants that constitute the quality of life of the elderly is behind us.
On June 15, 2024. Sebastian Plichta, Ph.D., and Robert Polak conducted field classes as part of practicals for the course “Practical Preparation for Security Threat Situations” for first-year first-cycle students of Internal Security (part-time) at WSEI University in Lublin.
This event was the culmination of the first edition of studies offered by WSEI University in Lublin. Nearly 40 students from all over the country, on a daily basis working in the uniformed services, health care institutions, private companies and public institutions and local governments received Diplomas confirming the completion of this significant stage in education
On June 15-16, the Air Festival was held in Swidnik. Together with the Academic Sports Championship High School, as sponsors of the event, we were present in the form of a promotional booth.
On June 11, a badminton tournament was held in the gymnasium of our University, which was attended by WSEI University Employees and Students and ALMS Students.
The competition was held in the double game category, and the tournament was attended by 7 teams. The winning pair turned out to be the representatives of the Academic Sports Championships High School – Gabriela Koniarczyk and Karol Ganczarenko. Special thanks for the commitment and creation of a sporting atmosphere to the organizer of the tournament – Dr. Maciej Tarnowski.
The trophy and commemorative medals were presented to all participants by Pro-rector Dr. Tomasz Wolowiec and Director Dr. Sylwia Skrzypek-Ahmed.

On Saturday, June 8, Prof. Cortoni held a lecture titled “Designing an educational pathway in preschool and early childhood education using robotics and digital tools.” The lecture was dedicated to all Pedagogy Students.
Dr. Ida Cortoni, Professor at Sapienza University in Rome in the field of sociology of cultural and communication processes, visited WSEI University in Lublin on June 5-8. During the visit, discussions were held on academic cooperation and joint research work. The meetings were attended by Prof. Tomasz Wołowiec and Prof. Monika Baryła – Matejczuk on behalf of the Institute of Psychology and Human Sciences (including a visit to the Experimental Psychology Laboratory).
