


The aim of the project is to organise three events that will integrate the academic community with the local government and the local community, promote Lublin as a student‑friendly city, also in the context of future employment, and promote WSEI as a university open to cooperation with local authorities.
Participants in the activities carried out within the Project (Project participants) will be domestic and international students, both from the Higher School of Economics and Innovation in Lublin and from other Universities, as well as the local community.
The festival gathered approximately 100 students from various countries such as Poland, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, the Philippines, Nigeria, presenting games and activities, music, costumes and dishes typical of their country, volunteers supporting the organisation of the event, as well as over 200 participants in the event from various universities in Lublin.
The event was organised and co‑financed within the project “Welcome to WSEI – Welcome to Lublin” financed from the budget of the City of Lublin.
The excursion plan included, among others, visits to the following places: Majdanek Museum, the Trinity Tower, Lublin Castle, the Museum of the Lublin Village, the “Brama Grodzka – Teatr NN” Centre, the “Lublin. Memory of Place” exhibition, the Lublin Underground Tourist Route, the House of Words, the Printing Chamber, Piwnica pod Fortuną.
Students also had an opportunity to get to know places related to everyday life, offices and institutions supporting foreigners.
Walking along the listed attractions was not only an occasion to get to know the city of Lublin, but also an opportunity to deepen the integration of international students with the academic community and to strengthen their ties with the city by learning about its history presented by guides.
40 people took part in the sightseeing tour, including 10 domestic students and 30 international students.

Representatives of the local government, employers and representatives of the Academy took part in the event. The discussion concerned, among others, employment prospects in Lublin for students and foreigners, characteristics of the local labour market, the Lublin academic environment, and the topic of refugees and entrepreneurship in Lublin.
The event aimed at presenting perspectives and opportunities to obtain employment in Lublin, as well as to start and develop a professional career in our region. The conference was also conducted in streaming, thereby enabling remote participation for interested persons.
