Erasmus+ Key Action 3: Networks and Partnerships of Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers

VET‑UP for the excellence in vocational education in Europe

Implementation period

01.09.2019 - 30.08.2021

Project objective

Building an international cooperation network of institutions involved in vocational education and training.

The project’s objectives focus on the idea of strengthening cooperation between providers of vocational education and training and facilitating the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices among the partner countries.

Improving the quality and effectiveness of vocational education and training, increasing its impact and importance, and building cross‑border cooperation are key elements of the cooperation planned within the project.

The project’s assumptions also fit into the idea of providing learners and employers with tools, guidance and initiatives focused on creating European frameworks for vocational education and training and a partnership for vocational preparation.

Planned activities

Each of the following activities will contribute to strengthening cooperation within the partner network, the proper use and dissemination of programmes funded from EU sources, and reaching a broad group of organisations that are not yet engaged in European cooperation in the vocational education sector.

  1. Supporting innovative learning of key competences.

Research activities aimed at identifying key competences necessary in the field of vocational education and training. To this end, project experts will compare the key competences defined by CEDEFOP: “Key competences in IVET” with the competences required by employers. The results of the above‑mentioned research will allow for the development of a training programme for trainers and training materials, which will be tested during the implementation of the project.

  1. Improving the quality of vocational education and training.

On the basis of the analysis carried out in the first stage of the project, the partners will organise two international trainings testing the developed training programme. The result of this activity will be an implemented tool – a training course that will enable all organisations involved in the implementation of the project to increase the effectiveness of their advisory and training activities.

  1. Developing the internationalisation strategy of the partner network.

Partners involved in local cooperation networks in the field of vocational education (Spain, France and Bulgaria) will organise partner visits for all project partners. The visits will aim to observe the functioning of local partnerships, share experiences, exchange good practices and plan joint activities promoting the achievements of the project.

  1. Supporting the European Skills Week events organised by umbrella institutions in France, Bulgaria and France.

The partners will contribute to this activity by organising events and actions at national and regional level aimed at increasing the attractiveness of vocational education and training. The project will enable, once a year, raising awareness about the added value of vocational education and training for parents, teachers, potential pupils/students of vocational schools, potential and existing employers in three European countries: Bulgaria, Spain and France.

Target groups

The target group of the project will include all persons involved in the implementation of the project and interested in its achievements: management staff of the partner organisations, administrative personnel, staff involved in career guidance providing services for pupils/students of vocational education, organisations engaged in the sector of training and vocational education, partner networks and national and international partner networks.
