WSEI University ranked second in the sixth edition of the ‘Lublin Akademicki’ Competition for academic initiatives

WSEI University, as the only non-public university in Lublin, was among the winners of the 6th edition of the ‘Lublin Akademicki’ competition. The jury appreciated our project ‘Lublin Smart Mobility: Artificial Intelligence in Logistics and Transport’.

The aim of the ‘Lublin Akademicki’ competition, organised by the Mayor of Lublin, is to promote and support academic initiatives carried out in our city.

- The award-winning project ‘Lublin Smart Mobility: Artificial Intelligence in Logistics and Transport’ focuses on the practical applications of artificial intelligence methods in transport and logistics systems, explains the Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Computer Science, PhD Eng. Michalina Gryniewicz-Jaworska, Professor at WSEI University and author of the project.

The project includes, among other things:

  • a two-day expert conference,
  • cooperation with industry partners and Lublin Airport,
  • real case studies and projects carried out by students,
  • development of digital and practical skills of young professionals.

- Cooperation with Lublin Airport and industry partners creates conditions for knowledge transfer, working with real data and strengthening Lublin's position as a centre of modern mobility - adds Dean Gryniewicz-Jaworska.

Forty-one applications were submitted for the sixth edition of the ‘Lublin Akademicki’ Competition, of which 38 were qualified for substantive evaluation. The Competition Committee awarded funding to the projects that ranked highest on the list. WSEI Univesristy project was awarded in category II, in which the amount of one-off support is PLN 10,000.

It is worth noting that last year our University was also a winner of the 'Lublin Akademicki' Competition. In the fifth edition, our project ‘Lublin - European Capital of GameDev’ was recognised, also carried out under the leadership of Dean Michalina Gryniewicz-Jaworska.

This is yet another distinction in this competition, confirming the active role of WSEI University  in the development of innovation, modern technologies and cooperation between science, business and the public sector – sums up the President of the University, Teresa Bogacka, Dr h.c.

We would like to thank the City of Lublin for its trust and support, and all our partners for their commitment. Together, we are building Lublin as a strong academic centre and a hub for smart mobility.
