Export Congress 2025: Exports as the Heart of the Economy

Export Congress 2025: Exports as the Heart of the Economy

The stability of political and economic systems as key determinants of export development was the main topic of discussion on Thursday, 23 October, during the Export Congress 2025 held at  WSEI University The event brought together entrepreneurs, exporters, representatives of local authorities, and academics.

- The year 2024 was quite favourable for exports - we recorded a trade surplus. The first half of 2025 shows weaker results, but I hope the second half of the year will balance things out -
said PhD Ryszard Nowak, President of the National Association of Exporters of the Republic of Poland, which organised the Congress.

Welcoming the guests to the university, PhD Mariusz Paździor, Professor at WSEI  University and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, emphasised:

 - Today, entrepreneurs are struggling with rising costs, including those of raw materials. Artificial intelligence is driving many changes, and businesses must learn to implement AI solutions effectively. I hope the insights you gain from today’s discussions will contribute to the further development of exports.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present academic research and analyses, as well as to exchange observations and experiences concerning exports and economic policy. The inaugural lecture was delivered by PhD Jerzy Kwieciński, former Vice-President of the Management Board of Bank Pekao S.A.

During the event, the Board of the National Association of Exporters of the Republic of Poland awarded the “Meritorious for Polish Exports” medals.

In the Personality category, the medal was awarded to Dr hab. Tomasz Wołowiec, Professor at WSEI University and Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation.

In the Companies category, the awards went to Biaform Plywood Industry Plants S.A. in Białystok, Ryki Dairy Cooperative, CEWAR Company, and Green Factory Bronisze.

- Exports are the heart of the economy - the greater the exports, the lower the unemployment rate and the faster the technological progress in the country. The Export Congress has, for years, helped shed light on the challenges related to exports. We hope that both the government and local administrations will become even more supportive, allowing exports to grow further. I would already like to invite you to the Export Congress 2026, when we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary - concluded President Nowak.
