3DP STeF: 3D Printing for Sustainable Textiles and Fabrics

Project objective

The 3DP STeF project aims to promote sustainable innovation in the textile and manufacturing sectors by upskilling and reskilling vocational school and university students through the introduction of Additive Manufacturing (AM) tools, such as 3D printing.

Target groups

  1. Young workers and aspiring specialists – young people working or wishing to work in the sector, including designers, trainers, educators, 3DP experts, and education providers.
  2. Educational and research institutions – universities, VET institutions, and research centers developing programs and competences for the industry.
  3. Industrial and business stakeholders – companies, startups, investors, and other stakeholders supporting the implementation of innovation and development in the textile and manufacturing sectors.
  4. Experts and opinion leaders in fashion and textiles – specialists, influencers, and representatives of EU-level companies and institutions shaping the future of the industry.

Project results

  1. A master’s-level study program for university students and teachers, focused on integrating 3D printing technologies, sustainable practices, and textile and fashion design – a micro-credential.
  2. Enhancing sustainability in the supply chain and reducing global risks through local production enabled by 3D printing.
  3. Promoting the use of sustainable raw materials, in line with circular economy principles.
  4. Reducing waste and emissions through efficient production processes.
  5. Contributing to an increase in the number of ICT specialists, equipped with advanced digital skills essential for modern industry.
