3D Printing in VET (3DP‑VET)

Implementation period

01.10.2019 - 30.09.2021

Project objective

The aim of the project “3D Printing in Vocational Education and Training (3DP‑VET)” is to introduce the use of 3D printers in vocational education and training across Europe. To integrate 3D printers into vocational schools or educational institutions, the project consortium will prepare an analysis of existing training programmes in the participating countries and, based on this analysis, develop an innovative, internationally competitive training programme on the use of 3D printing.

The project aims to increase the effectiveness and relevance of existing vocational trainings and to support the upskilling of teachers and trainers in the vocational‑education sector.

Planned activities

  • Preparation of a report on education using 3D printing/3D printers in the countries involved in the project.
  • Development of a needs‑analysis related to the use of 3D printing in teaching.
  • Development of online materials (training programme, teaching resources) for teachers and educators.
  • Creation of a teacher’s guide on the use of 3D printing in subject‑specific teaching.
  • Final workshops summarising the project implementation and promoting its activities in all partner countries.

Target groups

The main target group of the project results are teachers and trainers working in the vocational‑education sector. The materials developed and published on the project website will be available to all representatives of institutions related to education and training who are interested in using them in practice.
