Free preventive medical examinations, body composition analysis, games and activities for children, and many other attractions. All this was prepared by the WSEI University and the secondary schools it runs – Academic Sports Championship High School and the Academic High School of WSEI University in Lublin.– as part of the 34th Grand Finale of Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy’, which took place on Sunday at Galeria Olimp – mall in Lublin.
This year, the Orchestra is playing under the slogan ‘Healthy tummies for our children’. The money raised will be donated to the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in children.
On Sunday morning, the Lublin Gallery, where the 34th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was held, was filled with crowds of visitors, which grew denser by the hour. At our stand, students from the Edu-Aktywni Pedagogical Science Club and the Progressus Preschool and Early School Education Club had their hands full – the youngest visitors lined up to have balloon animals made, their hair braided or tattoos painted on
Young people and older people chose body composition analysis and preventive examinations.
- We conducted ECG tests, spirometry, blood glucose, blood pressure and oxygen saturation measurements, as well as body composition analysis for visitors to our stand. Almost 40 people took advantage of the tests. We recommended that several people visit a cardiology clinic, and we diagnosed one person with atrial fibrillation. We called an ambulance, which took care of the patient - says Mariusz Sutryk, MSc, supervisor of the Nursing Students' Research Club.
It was also a valuable experience for our students involved in the campaign: - My impressions are of a huge amount of positive energy, kind people, smiles, emotion and the feeling that you are doing something really important. I am glad that I could be part of this event. I really enjoyed the opportunity to help others - says Julia Jóźwik, a nursing student
Sylwia Jachuła, a student of Pedagogy, shares a similar opinion: - I am glad that I could be part of this initiative and represent our University at the joint stand. It is a very valuable experience for me, both in social and integration terms. I am proud that our University is actively involved in charitable activities and is contributing to such an important cause as helping others. Participation in the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is not only financial support, but also a demonstration that together we can do something good,- she says.
We raised PLN 1,812.62 at the event.

An individual, one-hour session of expert urogynaecological physiotherapy as part of preventive care, conducted by a qualified urogynaecological physiotherapist.
The session is aimed at women who:
• want to take preventive measures to ensure the health of their pelvic floor,
• do not yet experience any significant symptoms, but want to prevent them,
• have given birth (even many years ago),
• lead an active lifestyle or plan to intensify it,
• want to increase their awareness of their body and intimate health.
The session includes:
• a detailed health interview,
• a functional assessment (safe and tailored to the patient's needs),
• education on the prevention of pelvic floor disorders,
• individual therapeutic and exercise recommendations.
