A Great Honor for our lecturer – Mariusz Sutryk awarded in the nationwide “Together for Seniors” competition

A special distinction for our lecturer and supervisor of the Student Scientific Circle of Nursing at the Monoprofile Medical Simulation Centre of WSEI University – Mariusz Sutryk, MSc. He was among the winners of the “Together for Seniors” competition organized by the Office of the President of Poland, under the honorary patronage of the First Lady.

On Friday, May 16, the Final Gala of the 4th edition of the nationwide “Together for Seniors” competition took place at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The competition is held under the patronage of the First Lady of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda.

One of this year’s laureates was Mariusz Sutryk, MSc – a nurse, paramedic, and lecturer at the Lublin-based WSEI University. He was awarded 3rd place in the category “Youth for Seniors” for his efforts to improve the quality of life for elderly people.

The Nursing Student Scientific Circle, supervised by Mr. Sutryk, organizes free training sessions and preventive health screenings for seniors. Mr. Sutryk also conducts workshops and lectures as part of the University of the Third Age, provides guidance on medical testing, educates about safe medication practices, and speaks about common mistakes in diagnostics and first aid.

- This is a great honor both for the students and for the Nursing Scientific Circle operating within the Monoprofile Medical Simulation Center at WSEI University. This success would not have been possible without the dedication, passion, and persistent work of our Circle’s members and everyone who supported our project. Everyone contributed something unique and valuable, which helped us achieve this success together. I am deeply grateful for this cooperation and proud to be part of such an inspiring and committed community - emphasized Mr. Sutryk.

During the gala at the Presidential Palace, he was accompanied by nursing students who are active members of the Student Scientific Circle.

The awards were presented by the First Lady, Agata Kornhauser-Duda:

- I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has participated in this competition since 2021. I must say I am deeply impressed by the initiatives presented as part of it. The projects you implement genuinely improve the well-being of elderly people. Above all, they encourage seniors to live active lives and show how interesting, beneficial, and truly engaging the autumn of life can be - said Agata Kornhauser-Duda.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Mariusz and thank him for his invaluable commitment to supporting seniors, which WSEI University proudly promotes as part of its Third Mission.
