Library

The Library of Warsaw Branch of WSEI University, together with the Main Library in Lublin, form the Library and Information System. Its aim is to provide the academic community with broad access to library collections and academic information resources, which are essential both for teaching and for conducting academic research.

The Warsaw Branch Library fulfils library, information and teaching functions in support of the Branch’s research and teaching activities. It collects specialist literature, primarily in the fields of medical and health sciences, as well as the social sciences, specifically in the disciplines of psychology, education and sociology.

Library resources are available free of charge in the reading room, can be borrowed individually or via the inter-library loan service, or accessed via the University’s IT network.

Readers of the Warsaw Branch Library have the opportunity to use the following types of catalogs:

  1. Book catalog
    All orders are placed electronically based on the online catalog. Ordered collections are made available to readers on site in the reading room in Warsaw or loaned (max. 5 titles) for a period of 30 days with the possibility of extension for a period of 1 month.
  2. Magazine catalog
    All orders are placed electronically based on the online catalog. Ordered collections are made available to readers on site in the reading room in Warsaw or loaned (max. 5 titles) for a period of 30 days with the possibility of extension for a period of 1 month.

  • LIBRA IBUK – a platform containing electronic versions of books and journals published by the most important Polish scientific publishers: PWN, WNT, WAM, Wolters Kluwer Polska, university publishers, etc.
  • LEX System – electronic database of legal information ICM of the University of Warsaw and within the framework of cooperation of National Academic Licenses WSEI University obtained free access to foreign electronic journals: Elsevier, Springer, Wiley Online Library Nature, Science. Under this license, it also obtained free access to foreign electronic databases: SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE, EBSCOhost (access is financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education).
  • The Repository of WSEI University provides digital versions of works constituting the scientific, research and teaching achievements of the employees of WSEI University
  • Interlibrary loan catalog.

Students of WSEI University have the right to use the resources of other publicly available libraries by showing a valid student ID or other document.

Users of the collections of other libraries are obliged to comply with the regulations and order provisions of the appropriate libraries. Reference books and other library materials are available on-site free of charge in their reading rooms, as well as materials available online.

WSEI University has concluded cooperation agreements, including interlibrary exchange, with:
