XXII Lublin Festival of Science comes to an end

XXII Lublin Festival of Science comes to an end

It was an intensive, inspiring and truly scientific week. The 22nd edition of the Lublin Festival of Science has come to an end, with WSEI University as one of its co-organisers.

This year’s edition of the event took place from 19 to 25 September. Through lectures, workshops and the Lublin Science Picnic, we explored how science connects with our everyday lives.

The Science Picnic in Litewski Square proved that science can be truly engaging. Our students and staff offered a wide range of activities and attractions, including experiments, demonstrations, physical activities, body composition analysis, massages and medical advice. The picnic concluded with a lecture entitled “Science in the Service of Health – From a Computer Model to a Space Mission”, delivered by Dr hab. Eng. Tomasz Rymarczyk, Professor at WSEI University.

As part of the festival programme, WSEI University also organised a series of workshops. We discussed why we click and how online advertising influences us, explored the psychology of career planning, and, during the AI Creator Lab workshop, looked at creative ways of using the potential of artificial intelligence.

Award for a WSEI University researcher

During the closing ceremony of the Lublin Festival of Science, awards were presented to individuals who contribute to the popularisation of science. Among the recipients of the Lublin Festival of Science Science Populariser Award was Dr Robert Porzak, Professor at WSEI University.

The award recognises his outstanding ability to transform extensive scientific achievements and international research into an accessible and unique festival event. Through his original project, “Psychology of Career Planning Live”, Professor Porzak provided young people with free assessments of their professional predispositions, giving them a reliable guide for their future.

Professor Robert Porzak is a respected psychologist and researcher whose academic work combines theoretical knowledge with social practice. The award is also a recognition of his many years of passionate commitment to popularising science, consistently demonstrated throughout numerous previous editions of the Festival.
