Dr. Hab.Tomasz Wołowiec, Prof. at WSEI Univerity – Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at WSEI University – has co-authored two patents published by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland.
These solutions are the result of interdisciplinary cooperation with scientists from the Department of Economics, Innovation and Social Capital at the Faculty of Management, Lublin University of Technology.
The applications cover innovative thermal energy storage systems: P.454447 "Thermal energy storage device with a closed water loop" and P.454448 "Thermal energy storage with a closed water loop".
This exceptional achievement is the result of both teamwork with researchers from Lublin University of Technology and many years of research by Prof. Tomasz Wołowiec dedicated to sustainable energy development, smart energy grids, energy storage, energy system optimization, and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is one of the first patent achievements in which a representative of the social sciences has made a significant contribution to the development of innovative technological solutions. This confirms the growing role of management sciences and economics in creating innovations for the energy transition and sustainable development.
