Celebrating Leaders in Education – 14th Edition of the “School of Innovation” Competition

For the 14th time, WSEI University has recognised outstanding schools, headteachers, teachers, students, and innovative initiatives across secondary schools in the Lublin Province. The official “School of Innovation” Awards Ceremony took place on 22 April at  the headquarters of WSEI University.

Opening the gala, Dr h.c. Teresa Bogacka, President of WSEI University, emphasised:

- We have not gathered here merely to present awards, but to honour those who have the courage to transform education. At our University, We believe that innovation is, above all, about people. Change depends on our willingness to step off the beaten path, to ask questions, and to seek new solutions. In this competition, we do not reward projects - we reward people.

Awards were presented in seven categories:

  • School – Innovation Leader
  • Innovative Initiative
  • Headteacher – Innovation Leader
  • Teacher – Innovation Leader
  • Pupil – Innovation Leader
  • Innovative Library
  • Organisation of Psychological and Educational Support

Anna Antyga, Headteacher of C. K. Norwid Secondary School No. 2 in Krasnystaw, whose school received the top honour, said:

- This prestigious title belongs to our entire team. I would like to thank all staff and teachers  this achievement is the result of our collective effort.

The title of “Headteacher – Leader of Innovation” was awarded to Jolanta Rycyk, Headteacher of UN No. 1 Secondary School in Biłgoraj, who noted:

- We have participated in this competition for 15 years, receiving awards every year. This distinction is a great honour, but also a responsibility. It reflects the work of our entire school community.

This year, 26 secondary schools took part in the competition. Winners were selected by a distinguished jury composed of representatives from education, public administration, and media.

In addition to certificates and trophies, winners received prizes such as laptops, printers, headphones, and external drives, funded by WSEI University, the Marshal’s Office of the Lublin Province, the City of Lublin, and PKO BP Bank.

TVP3 Lublin, the event’s media patron, will produce a feature film about the winning school.

The competition is held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Lublin Province, the Mayor of Lublin, and the Lublin School Superintendent.

Organisation of Psychological and Educational Support

  • Second Honourable Mention: Regional Centre for Vocational Education in Lubartów
  • First Honourable Mention: K. K. Baczyński Centre for Vocational and Continuing Education
  • Winner: Secondary School Complex No. 1 in Zamość

Innovative Initiative

  • Second Honourable Mention: 27th Secondary School in Lublin (Military Training Unit initiative)
  • Honourable Mention: C. K. Norwid Secondary School No. 2 (MDKF “Iluzjon”)
  • First Honour: K. K. Baczyński Centre (SUMIBOT initiative)
  • Winner: Tadeusz Kościuszko Transport and Communications School Complex (Cybersecurity Technician programme)

Innovative Library

  • Second Honourable Mention: UN High School No. 1 in Biłgoraj
  • First Honourable Mention: Secondary School Complex No. 1 in Zamość
  • Winner: Lublin Union High School No. 3

Headteacher – Leader of Innovation

  • Second Honourable Mention: Agnieszka Piekarska
  • First Honour: Sławomir Dybała
  • Winner: Jolanta Rycyk
