Lectures, workshops, and discussion panels – all featuring renowned experts from across Europe. This is what Erasmus Week at WSEI University looked like.
– Erasmus Week was an incredibly valuable experience for me. I attended lectures delivered by speakers from various European countries. I was particularly impressed by the presentation from our guests from Italy – the topic of international cooperation and the opportunities it brings was especially interesting and inspiring. Meetings like this with people from other countries are a great chance for us to grow. They allow us to look at issues from new perspectives and better understand how people in other countries perceive the world. It's a valuable lesson in openness, intercultural dialogue, and also a great opportunity to practice English communication – said Tymur Suprun, a first-year Logistics student at WSEI University.
The event, titled "WSEI University in the European Educational Space – Erasmus Week", was held for the first time. From May 26th to 30th, participants had free access to lectures by leading European experts, along with workshops and discussions.
Each day had a dedicated theme: the first day focused on health and elderly care, the second on supporting children in developing their skills, the third explored innovations in human resources management, the fourth addressed multiculturalism and adaptation in education and the labor market, and Erasmus Week concluded with a focus on international cooperation as a catalyst for educational innovation and development.
Among the distinguished speakers were world-class experts in the field of high sensitivity: Prof. Michael Pluess from the United Kingdom, a leading researcher in environmental sensitivity; Dr. Corina Greven from the Netherlands, an expert on high sensitivity in children and adolescents; Dr. Borja Costa Lopez from Spain; PhD Monika Baryła, Professor at WSEI University, Dr. Gabriela Dumitriu from Romania; Maria Fabiani, an expert with the Digital Education Hub at the European Commission;.
On the final day of the event, WSEI University signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with the City of Rome and the City of Lublin. The agreement includes joint educational projects and the exchange of experiences.
– We are truly grateful for the participation in Erasmus Week. During this exceptional week, we hosted numerous international experts not only in the field of high sensitivity but also from many other disciplines. Dozens of specialists led diverse workshops on socially important topics, and the events were attended by hundreds of participants who benefited from a wide range of activities organized both by our partners and institutions involved – said PhD. Monika Baryła, coordinator of the event.
– It was a highly engaging week. The lectures and our guests were truly outstanding. I would particularly highlight the lecture by Prof. Michael Pluess from the University of Surrey in the UK – one of the five most prominent next-generation psychologists. His presentation at our University was phenomenal. We’ve established new connections and outlined promising project plans. The tripartite agreement with the City of Rome and the City of Lublin was the perfect conclusion to the week – the true cherry on top – added Dr. Tomasz Wołowiec, Professor at WSEI University and Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation.
The event was organized by WSEI University, OIC Poland Foundation, and the Regional Information Points of the National Agency for the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps.
