Rebuilding Careers with AI Skills and Problem-Based Learning ReSTART

Implementation period

08.12.2025 - 07.12.2027

Project objective

Developing competencies in artificial intelligence (AI) and the ability to effectively collaborate with AI among unemployed individuals, facilitating their reintegration into the labor market. Particular emphasis is placed on preparing them for remote and hybrid administrative roles, customer service, and virtual assistants. The project is implemented through an accessible, practical, and problem-focused learning methodology supported by micro credentials.

Target groups

  1. Unemployed and low-skilled adults:
    • Individuals struggling to re-enter the labor market, particularly those lacking digital competence or facing exclusion from AI supported and remote work opportunities.
    • Adults with low or no digital skills.
    • Individuals facing long-term unemployment.
    • Women and older adults, underrepresented in digital upskilling.
    • Individuals affected by the digital transition in administrative, customer support, and clerical roles.
  2. Adult educators and trainers:
    • Educators needing upskilling in AI literacy, digital pedagogy, remote work tools, and problem-based learning (PBL).
    • Trainers from VET centers, adult education providers, and NGOs.
  3. Employers, social partners:
    • Employers from administrative, customer support, and virtual work sectors seeking workers equipped with AI-supported task management and remote work collaboration skills.

Project results

  1. An online educational platform for learning human–AI collaboration, including at least 4 educational modules, PBL scenarios, a self-assessment tool, and a digital micro-credential system.
  2. A tested and implemented version of the training platform at EU level, together with a testing report and virtual mobility.
  3. A partner network “AI Practitioners Community” consisting of at least 30 trainers from partner countries.
  4. A trainer’s handbook on AI (digital and/or printed publication) and a set of training materials for adult learners.
  5. At least 14 trainers in partner countries trained in the project’s methodology and in using the AI platform.
  6. At least 90 adult participants in partner countries trained in human–AI collaboration in the context of remote and hybrid work.
  7. At least 3 study visits (or a series of visits) for a total of at least 30 participants, with documentation (reports, visual materials) on observing AI applications in remote and hybrid work environments.
  8. A report with recommendations on developing AI-related competences among unemployed adults, addressed to training institutions, employers, and education policy makers.
