Student, you are not alone – free psychological support as part of the Drop-Out project at WSEI University

On February 23, Poland observes National Depression Awareness Day. On this occasion, WSEI University would like to remind you that you can take advantage of free psychological support as part of a project aimed at counteracting the phenomenon of dropping out of university.

Psychological and counselling support is one of the elements of the project https://www.wsei.pl/projekty/projekty-krajowe/swiadomy-wybor-sukces-na-studiach-stabilna-przyszlosc-kompleksowy-program-wsparcia-studentow-lubelskiej-akademii-wsei (Conscious Choice, Success at University, Stable Future – Comprehensive Student Support Program at WSEI University)  implemented as part of the European Funds for Social Development programme.

The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency of university management and provide support in the learning process in order to reduce the drop-out rate.

Support is provided by experienced psychologists, practitioners and university lecturers:

PhD Grzegorz Kata and Judyta Bieniek, MA, from the Academic Centre for Psychoprophylaxis and Therapy.

- As part of the Drop-Out programme, students can take advantage of free psychological support, which includes individual consultations, tutoring, assistance in planning their development and career path, motivational support and crisis intervention, says Judyta Bieniek, MA, from the Academic Centre for Psychoprophylaxis and Therapy  - The assistance is not limited to academic matters – we tailor it to the individual needs of the student and the difficulties they report - she adds.

Do you need support? Take advantage of individual meetings and workshops that will help you manage stress, organise your personal affairs and function more confidently in academic life.

Support is available to all students of WSEI University , regardless of their year of study or field of study.

As part of the support programme, students can take advantage of free psychological assistance, including:

  1.  Individual consultations
  • Assistance in identifying and analysing life and academic problems
  • Developing strategies for coping with difficulties
  • Reducing stress related to studying and examinations
  1.  Group workshops
  • Adaptation for first-year students
  • Development of academic skills: work planning, learning techniques
  • Stress management, learning relaxation techniques, building mental resilience
  1. Crisis intervention
  • Assistance in emergency life and family situations
  • Referral to specialist assistance if necessary
  1. Tutoring and preventive measures
  • Motivational support
  • Information campaigns on the importance of mental health and available forms of support at the University
