Teaching breast and testicular self-examination to students at WSEI University

Students of WSEI University Branch in Warsaw can take part in workshops on proper breast and testicular self-examination. Meetings with a specialist will be held regularly and free of charge.

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women worldwide and is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths in this group. Testicular cancer is less common, but it is the most common malignant tumor in young men between the ages of 15 and 40. In both cases, early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and complete recovery.

In this context, workshops devoted to teaching proper breast and testicular self-examination are particularly important. The first such workshops for students of the WSEI University Branch were held at the end of January, but will be repeated.

The meetings are led by Olga Koziatek, Prevention and Health Promotion Coordinator at LUX MED, who demonstrates on phantoms how to perform such an examination correctly and answers participants' questions.

- The aim of the workshops is to increase health awareness, teach mindful observation of one's own body, and shape lasting preventive habits that can have a real impact on health and quality of life - says Anna Szawara, Director of WSEI University Branch in Warsaw.
